Being a Christian is more than just an instantaneous conversion – it is a daily process whereby you grow to be more and more like Christ.

Billy Graham

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

C. S. Lewis

What We Believe

Our Mission

Our mission is to engage people with the truth about Jesus Christ, so that they might experience his life-giving salvation. To accomplish this mission we believe in loving people where they are, engaging the culture with a fully informed Biblical worldview, and live responsible and holy lives as the followers of Jesus Christ.

God

God is the Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of the universe. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal being, all knowing and all powerful. To him we owe our highest love, respect and obedience. God reveals himself to us as Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, but he is one, without division, in terms of his being, essence, or nature.

Jesus Christ

The Son of God has always existed, and he is co-equal with God. He lived a sinless life, gave himself as a perfect sacrifice for all our sins by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days and will return to the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Scriptures

The Bible is God’s word to us. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without mixture of error. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. Only the Holy Spirit can enable us to fully understand Scripture.

Humankind

Human beings are the special creation of God, the pinnacle of his creative work. He created us male and female. Made in his image, humankind has enormous potential for good, but the ability to to do good is overshadowed by our innate sinfulness. The image of God is restored in those who have embraced Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Only he can break the power of sin in our lives so that we might have a personal relationship with him, and become the persons God created us to be.

Salvation

Salvation is the work of God in human beings to make us right with him, cleanse us of sin, and bestow the gift of eternal life upon us. We believe that we experience Jesus Christ as our personal savior by accepting his death on the cross as the means by which we are reconciled to God and forgiven of our sins. God’s gift of salvation is initiated by Him and through faith alone.

The Church

The New Testament church is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by our mutual relationship with Jesus Christ, who is the head of the church. We seek to practice the two ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, exercise our spiritual gifts in ministry, and proclaim the gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth.

Baptism

Christian baptism is the immersion a new believer in water in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience, symbolizing our faith in the crucified, and risen Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as our death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the newness of life in Jesus Christ.

The Lord’s Supper

Referred to as communion by other Christians, we believe the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby we participate in the taking of the bread and the fruit of the vine in remembrance of our redeemer, Jesus, until he returns again in the Second Coming.

Our Cooperative Relationships

We are baptist in belief, and in friendly cooperation with the Southern Baptist Convention. We give to the ongoing efforts to reach people for Jesus Christ all over the world and the state of Arkansas through the Cooperative Program. We welcome fellowship and missions opportunity with all Christians everywhere.
